While our core utility work is rock solid, we’ve also expanded heavily into modern grid demands—meaning you'll be designing infrastructure directly tied to massive data center expansions and major renewables-integration projects. You won't be stuck doing copy-paste designs here; the project variety is genuine, and the technical scope is serious.

What the Role Looks Like

Depending on where your strengths lie, you’ll step into either a Technical Specialist or Project Lead track. You’ll take real ownership of major substation design and EPC projects up to 765kV.

On any given week, you’ll be:

• Leading the design engine: Building out full physical layouts (yard layout, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, auxiliary power) and/or P&C packages (relay schemes, panel arrangements, one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics).
• Guiding the quality: Running complex engineering calculations, leading QA/QC reviews on final packages, and ensuring work hits the mark on budget and schedule.
• Building the team & business: Serving as a go-to technical mentor for junior engineers, talking directly with clients, and helping shape winning project proposals.

What We’re Looking For

We need someone who can hit the ground running with strong high-voltage design instincts and comfortable client-facing skills.

• Experience: 11+ years in substation design with a B.S. in Engineering.
• Technical Depth: Deep, hands-on experience in high-voltage physical design, protection & control design, or both.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage design budgets, timelines, and client relationships with confidence.
• Licensure: A active PE license is strongly preferred.
• Bonus points: Prior experience on the consulting side (agency/firm background rather than strictly in-house utility) and familiarity with Bluebeam Revu.
