At AEC, we design and build custom automated machinery from the ground up. We’re looking for a seasoned Level 3 Fabrication Technician to join our shop team in Greer.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision craftsmanship. If you can read a mechanical blueprint, understand weld symbols and GD&T without missing a beat, and lay down clean welds on tight-tolerance custom assemblies—all with minimal supervision—you're going to like working here.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Custom Fabrication: Build high-precision parts and sub-assemblies directly from mechanical prints, shop drawings, and tight tolerance specs.
- Shop Equipment Operation: Run MIG, TIG, and ARC welders, along with press brakes, shears, ironworkers, and plasma/oxy-acetylene torches.
- Quality Control: QC your own work, ensure assemblies are built to spec, and assist team members with tricky setups.
- Cross-Functional Shop Work: Flex into basic mechanical assembly or machining when specific project pushes demand extra hands.
- Communication: Work directly with the Fabrication Foreman and Production Foreman to keep builds moving smoothly.
What We Need
- Experience: 11+ years (or 10+ deep years) in high-precision machinery or custom metals fabrication.
- Blueprint Expertise: Strong ability to read mechanical drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T specs.
- Basic Computer Skills: Comfortable using standard office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) for basic shop updates and comms.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with machining to print, reading assembly drawings, or basic electrical schematics.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Hours: Standard Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime Realities: Occasional Friday or weekend hours are required during heavy project pushes or customer plant shutdowns.
- Travel: Onsite in Greer, with roughly 10–15% travel to customer sites for equipment integration or maintenance.
Benefits & Perks
- 401(k) plan
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Relocation assistance available if moving to the Greer area
- Visa sponsorship available for qualified applicants
