Job Position: Welder Fitter Job in Canada – LMIA Pending for Foreign Workers
Vacancy: 5 Vacancies
Company: Pro-Par Inc
Salary: $28.84 to 30.50 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week
Location: Sherbrooke, QC, Canada
If you’re a skilled Welder Fitter who actually enjoys the craft, loves a good fabrication challenge, and wants to work with a great crew, we should chat.
We’re looking for 5 experienced Welder Fitters to join our production floor in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Quick note for international applicants: We currently have an LMIA pending. We are actively looking for the right people now so we can jump right into the immigration process as soon as the paperwork clears.
The Real Talk (Pay, Hours, & Benefits)
- The Money: We’re looking at $28.84 to $30.50 an hour to start, but we’re open to negotiating based on what you bring to the table. Plus, if you prefer the night owl lifestyle, we pay a night shift premium.
- The Schedule: A steady, reliable 40 hours a week.
- The Perks: We honestly take care of our people. You get a massive benefits package—health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and travel insurance. We also help you save for the future with an RRSP match and a DPSP profit-sharing plan.
- The Fun Stuff: Free parking, team-building days, and on-site recreation spots to unwind after a hard shift.
Who We're Looking For
This isn't an entry-level gig; we need someone who can walk onto the shop floor and know exactly what they’re doing.
- Experience & Education: You’ve got a trade certificate/diploma and have been doing this for at least 3 to 5 years.
- Language: Since our shop is in Quebec, you’ll need to be fluent in French to talk shop with the crew and understand instructions.
- The Grit: You know how a heavy industrial manufacturing shop is. It gets hot, loud, dusty, and dirty. You’ll be on your feet, bending, crouching, and lifting pieces up to 50 lbs (23 kg). You need sharp eyes, steady hands, and a mind for safety.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
We do a lot of custom fabrication and factory assembly with steel, iron, and heavy metals. Your day-to-day will look like this:
- Looking over blueprints and welding specs to figure out the best approach.
- Fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal parts.
- Running manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding gear. We use a bit of everything here: MIG (GMAW), Flux-Core (FCAW), Submerged Arc (SAW), Plasma, and multi-pass fusion welds.
- Using torch-cutting (arc-air) gear and operating overhead cranes/hoists to move heavy materials safely.
- Checking your own welds to ensure they are flawless before the product goes out the door.
π LMIA Status: The employer has applied for an LMIA and is waiting for approval. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are also encouraged to apply.
