Job Position: Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Work in the UK With Visa Sponsorship
Company: Risetechnical
Salary: £58,000 + (OTE: £60,000 - £70,000) + Overtime a year
Location: Leicester, East Midlands, UK
Looking for an electrical maintenance engineer who wants to work for a proper company – the kind that treats people well and actually invests in training. This is with a big FMCG manufacturer that's doing really well right now, so they're adding to the team.
Here's the deal: you'll be maintaining production equipment (lots of PLC work), getting trained on some seriously good machinery, and earning decent overtime at premium rates. It's a continental shift pattern, so you'll rotate through days and nights.
The company has a solid reputation – people tend to stick around because they look after their staff. If you're tired of dead-end maintenance roles and want somewhere you can actually build a career, this could be worth a look.
Where Is It?
Skelmersdale – easy commute if you're in or around Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Preston, Southport, Liverpool, St Helens, Kirkby, or Formby.
What You'll Actually Do Day-to-Day
- Fix stuff when it breaks (reactive maintenance)
- Regular checks and planned maintenance to stop things breaking in the first place
- Mostly working with PLCs and electrical systems
- Learning new equipment as you go – they'll train you properly
Who They Want
- Someone with electrical maintenance experience, preferably from FMCG or production
- Your electrical qualifications sorted (City & Guilds, NVQ, that sort of thing)
- An electrically-focused engineer who can handle the maintenance side
- Someone who actually wants to learn and isn't just looking for an easy ride
- Must be reliable – production environments need people who show up
What You Get
- £58k starting, but with overtime you're realistically looking at £60-70k
- Overtime paid at premium rates (not the usual rubbish rates)
- Proper training on modern equipment
- Actual career progression – not just empty promises
- Good benefits package and pension
- They'll sponsor your visa if you need it
- Job security with a national company that's going places
