Job Position: Long Haul Truck Drivers Job in MB - Canada For Foreigners with LMIA
Vacancy: 10 vacancies
Company: Elk Logistic Inc
Salary: $30.50 hourly / 40 to 60 hours per week
Location: Winnipeg, MB, Canada
If you love life on the open road, take pride in keeping a massive rig running smoothly, and are looking for a solid driving team to join, we’d love to have you on board.
Elk Logistic Inc. is growing our fleet, and we are looking for 10 dedicated Long Haul Truck Drivers to join us out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Good news for international drivers: We already have an approved LMIA, which means we are fully ready and happy to support qualified foreign workers for these roles!
What We’re Looking For
Because you'll be handling heavy tractor-trailers, there are a few legal and safety must-haves we need to check off:
- Licensing: You must have a valid Class 1/1F/A Licence (or equivalent standard for semi-trailer trucks) along with an Air Brakes Endorsement.
- Background Checks: We will need a clean driving record (driver's abstract) and a validity check on your license.
- Education: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: We are actually willing to train the right person! If you have the licenses and the drive, we can help you learn our specific systems.
- Language: Good English communication skills are essential so you can easily stay in touch with dispatch and handle paperwork.
- Physical Fit: The job is physically demanding. You'll be sitting for long stretches, working in dusty environments at times, and you need to be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) for tarping, securing, or loading cargo.
What Your Days Will Look Like
You’ll be operating tractor-trailers and refrigerated units (reefers). On any given run, you will be responsible for:
- Driving & Navigation: Operating straight or articulated trucks safely across long distances. You'll use modern GPS and tech to plan or adjust your routes, which helps us cut down on fuel and carbon emissions.
- Safety First: Performing thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections. You'll keep a close eye on tires, brakes, lights, and cold storage units.
- Cargo Care: Tarping loads, ensuring everything is secure, and handling occasional loading and unloading.
- Communication & Paperwork: Keeping central dispatch updated, managing your driver logbooks, tracking fuel, and handling bills of lading.
π LMIA Status: Approved. The employer is authorized to hire foreign workers. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are also encouraged to apply.
