We’re looking for a Pastry Chef to take the lead in our pastry kitchen. This isn’t just about running production — it’s about bringing creativity, leadership, and heart to a team that thrives on making memorable food experiences. You’ll be working with local, seasonal ingredients, designing desserts that reflect the beauty of Big Sur, and inspiring a small team to do their best work.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing seasonal desserts, breads, and pastries that look beautiful and taste even better
- Leading and mentoring our pastry team (we’re big on teamwork and creativity)
- Keeping things running smoothly in the kitchen — schedules, orders, cost control, and food safety
- Partnering with the rest of the culinary and service teams to make events and dining experiences special
- Sometimes stepping out to meet guests for pastry demos or classes (yes, people love this part!)

What we’re looking for
- 3–5 years of pastry leadership in a fine-dining, resort, or luxury hotel setting
- Strong pastry skills, creativity, and attention to detail
- Someone who can manage both small daily production and large-scale events
- A leader who supports and inspires their team (and keeps calm when things get busy)
- Culinary or pastry degree is a plus, but passion and skill matter most
- Willingness to work flexible shifts (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long stretches in the kitchen
