50 Banana workers are required for a banana farm in the Innisfail region of North Queensland on a casual basis for between 6 and 9 months for immediate start. Wages will be paid at standard Horticulture awards rates and work will be over 5-6 days per week, depending on weather conditions. The average minimum weekly work hours is approximately 30 hours per week but will differ from week to week depending on crop requirements. The work is physically demanding and there are regular periods of hot and humid weather so workers need to be physically and self-motivated. Own transport is not necessary. Previous experience not necessary but will be favourable Daily duties may include:

Field work - Harvesting Banana Bunches, de-leafing, stringing and de-suckering of banana plants, planting bananas, irrigation and other field duties as directed by your team leader

Shed work - Hanging Banana Bunches, de-handing, sorting and packing bananas, stacking banana cartons and other shed duties as directed by your team leader.

What you need:

Physically Fit Self motivated You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week depending on weather conditions Able to work as part of a team and follow direction of team leader Able to work in all weather conditions.
